Duke Blue Devils vs. Wake Forest Demon Deacons Free Pick

Duke only has two straight-up losses on the season, but last Wednesday’s 90-63 blow-out at the hands of No.14 Miami as a 2.5-point road favorite had to raise some eyebrows concerning the overall state of this team. The Blue Devils responded by hammering a decent Maryland team 84-64 as 12-point favorites at home this past Saturday. They are now 17-2 straight-up on the year and 11-8 against the spread. Duke at Georgia Tech Pick and Preview 1/14/09

Third-ranked Duke will go for their seventh straight win on Wednesday as they visit Georgia Tech. The Blue Devils have been playing suffocating defense so far to start the conference season as they held Virginia Tech to 44 points and Florida State to 58 points. Siena at Pittsburgh Preview 12/17/08

Third ranked Pittsburgh has left little doubt so far this season that they are a team to be reckoned with. They have won every game this season by at least 13 points and that could be the case again on Wednesday as they host Siena. Pittsburgh has the nation’s leading offensive rebounder in DeJuan Blair and he has set up a lot of easy shots for Sam Young. Overall, the Panthers are ranked in the Top 25 in the nation in field goal percentage. Pittsburgh is also shooting well from three-point range which makes them even more difficult to defend.
