The 2012 ALDS series between the Oakland Athletics and the Detroit Tigers will wrap up on Thursday night at the O.co Coliseum with Game 5.

The home team has won all four of the games in this series, but Justin Verlander is going to be the favorite to make that trend stop to end this series. Though the truth of the matter is that Oakland had the home field advantage in this series, it would have felt like an epic collapse after going up 2-0 against the A’s.

Home field advantage has held up thus far in the first two MLB betting battles of the ALDS, and tonight, the Oakland Athletics have to hope that that continues when they take on the Detroit Tigers, or their season will come to a crashing halt.

The Tigers knew what they had to do in the first two games of this series, and they did just that.

The main portion of the MLB betting playoffs kicks off on Saturday night in Motown, where the Detroit Tigers hope to claim Game 1 of the ALDS against the Oakland Athletics.

It’s still amazing to think that Oakland is here in the playoffs as the No. 2 seed and the winners of the AL West. It was a remarkable comeback to get to this point, but now, every team is 0-0, and the A’s are clearly the team that lack the most experience and likely the most talent as well. Jarrod Parker gets the ball to start off this series, and he, like so many of the other Oakland pitchers, are about to embark upon the biggest games of their careers.

The AL playoff chase will take another turn on Tuesday night for MLB betting action in Motown, where the Detroit Tigers will host the Oakland Athletics in the first game of a crucial three-game set.

Not only is Oakland really starting to look the part of a playoff team, but it is closing in quickly on the Texas Rangers for the AL West lead as well. The A’s have the second best record in the National League, and they have 4.5-games of safety over the Los Angeles Angels, who are the first team on the outside of the playoffs looking in at the moment.
