Tons will be on the line on Sunday afternoon at the HHH Metrodome for NFL betting fans, as the Minnesota Vikings play host to the Green Bay Packers in what might amount to be one of the most crucial regular season games that we have seen in years.
The Green Bay Packers started out slowly, but they have won seven of their last eight games. The Chicago Bears started out red hot, but they have lost four of their last five games. Green Bay picked up a win against the Bears earlier this year. Chicago is only one game behind in the division, and this is a huge game for them. Can the Bears pick up the win in front of their home crowd at Soldier Field?
Detroit’s brief run at a return trip to the playoffs this season came to an end with a current four-game losing streak that dropped its overall record to 4-8 straight-up and 5-7 against the spread. Give credit to the Lions for keeping things close against Houston and Indianapolis the past two weeks, but this team has forgotten how to close-out games to get the win.
Minnesota started the season like a house on fire with four straight-up wins in their first five games, but those flames have been doused with just one victory in its last four. The Vikings are now an even 6-5 SU on the year and 4-6-1 against the spread. The total has gone OVER in three of its last four games.
Many bettors abandoned the Packers earlier in the season after an unexpected slow start, but a current five-game winning streak has most of them back on the bandwagon in a big way. Green Bay is now 7-3 straight-up on the year and 5-5 against the spread. It has covered in four of its last five games and the total has gone OVER in five of its last seven games.
Do not look now but the Green Bay Packers have worked their way back into the NFC playoff picture after an unexpected slow start. They have won four straight games to improve to 6-3 straight-up on the year but they are still under .500 against the spread at 4-5. The total has gone OVER in six of their nine games.
The Arizona Cardinals started the season 4-0, but they have now dropped four games in a row. The Green Bay Packers started 2-3, but they have won three straight to go to 5-3 on the season. Arizona will travel to Lambeau Field this weekend to try to get back on track. It certainly won’t be an easy task for the Cardinals.
John Skelton was hurt early in the year, but now Kevin Kolb is out so Skelton is back as the Cardinals starting quarterback.
If there was ever any question of head coach Sean Payton’s value to his team before, it is surely been answered in the Saints shocking 0-3 start to the season. They have now lost to Washington, Carolina, and Kansas City as favorites in each game while getting outscored by a total of 19 points.
It has been a mess so far on both sides of the ball. All-Pro quarterback Drew Brees has completed less than 55 percent of his passes and has been picked off five times after throwing just 14 interceptions all last season.
The last two teams of the week to kick it off on Monday Night Football betting action this week are the Seattle Seahawks and the Green Bay Packers. Check out some of the NFL prop bets that are available at BetDSI, as we analyze the betting lines and see which sides to play.
Longest Field Goal of the Game Under 44.5 Yards: Kicking in Seattle isn’t one of the easiest things to do, especially for two kickers that aren’t often allowed to kick the big time boots. Granted, K Mason Crosby has a huge leg and can kick it from 60, but K Steven Hauschka isn’t all that great of a kicker.
