A strong contender in the East will travel to face a strong contender in the West when the Golden State Warriors play host to the Indiana Pacers on TNT at 10:30 ET inside Oracle Arena.
One of the league’s newest rivalries will be renewed when Eastern Conference powers meet in the sunshine state, as the Miami Heat take on the Indiana Pacers at American Airlines Arena on ESPN at 7:00 ET.
Indiana has already defied the odds by taking this series the full seven games. It is now one win away from pulling of one of the biggest upsets in NBA playoff history after forcing a Game 7 with Saturday night’s 91-77 romp in Game 6 as a 2.5-point underdog at home.
The Pacers had Miami on the ropes for over half of Thursday night’s Game 5, but with no answer on how to contain the NBA’s best player, they fell 90-79 as 7.5-point road underdogs. The total stayed UNDER the 185.5-point line after going OVER in the first four games of this series. The loss also put them on the brink of elimination heading into Saturday night’s Game 6.
After getting a series split and darn near taking both games in South Beach, the Indiana Pacers are going to have their best shot to take a lead in the Eastern Conference Finals on Sunday night when they square off with the Miami Heat at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
Indiana did everything right to put itself in position to steal a win on the road in Game 1, but still came up just short in a 103-102 overtime loss as a 7.5-point underdog. The total went way OVER the 181.5-point line. This unexpected shootout for a Pacers’ team that averaged just 92 points in its first 12 playoffs games proved that it can stand toe-to-toe with Miami. However, the key to stealing a win on Friday night will be to quickly get this heart-breaking loss out of their head.
Indiana returns to action this Wednesday night in Game 1 of the best-of-seven Eastern Conference Finals against a team that it beat two of three times in the regular season both straight-up and against the spread. It had the benefit of playing two of those games at home after coming-up short 105-91 as a 6.5-point road underdog the last time they met in mid-March.
The Indiana Pacers stunned New York with a 102-95 victory in Game 1 of this series as five-point underdogs on the road and now they are in prime position to close this series out in five games. Indiana extended its lead to 3-1 with a rock-solid 93-82 victory as a five-point favorite in Tuesday night’s Game 4 as once again the Knicks had no answer for its stifling defense.
New York could only manage a split at home in the first two games of this best-of-seven Eastern Conference Semifinals matchup so this past Saturday’s 82-71 loss in Game 3 as a five-point road underdog pretty much makes this contest a must-win. Defense has been the key so far in this series and the team that has done the best job on that end of the court has prevailed with the straight-up win in the first three games.
The Indiana Pacers went into Madison Square Garden and took Game One from the Knicks. They then led in the third quarter of Game Two before being thumped the rest of the game. The Knicks ended up winning 105-79 to tie up the series at one game apiece. The series shifts to Indiana now. Who will get the momentum this Saturday in Game Three?
