Detroit Tigers at Cleveland Indians Preview 4/17/08

The Detroit Tigers have started to play well since manager Jim Leyland threw a tirade last weekend. They will now look to get pitcher Justin Verlander on track as they face the Cleveland Indians on Thursday. Verlander is 0-2 with a 6.52 ERA this season. He has pitched a little bit better than his numbers indicate though.

Colorado at San Diego Preview 4/17/08

The Colorado Rockies and San Diego Padres conclude a three-game set on Thursday evening at Petco Park. Jake Peavy gets the start for the Padres while Jeff Francis goes for the Rockies. Peavy is already in mid-season form with an ERA of 1.64 and a 3-0 record. Francis has struggled so far going 0-2 with a 9.53 ERA.

Boston Red Sox at New York Yankees Preview 4/16/2008

The Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees meet for the fourth time this season on Wednesday as the teams open up a short two game set, this time in New York. The Red Sox took two of three in Boston over the weekend against the Yankees. SBG Global reports that early MLB betting has the public taking Yankees at Home.

Milwaukee Brewers at St. Louis Cardinals Preview 4/15/2008

The Milwaukee Brewers and St. Louis Cardinals have started the season in fine form with the Brewers starting 8-4 and the Cardinals going 9-4. Milwaukee is getting some unexpected help as Gabe Kapler, who was coaching in the minor leagues last season is leading the way.

Boston Red Sox at Cleveland Indians Preview 4/14

The Boston Red Sox and Cleveland Indians begin a series on Monday in a rematch of last year’s ALCS that Boston won after trailing three games to one. Boston went on to win the World Series after the comeback against Cleveland. The Indians could be looking for a little revenge but considering they are only 5-7 this season they could just be trying to win some games.

Colorado Rockies at Arizona Diamondbacks 4/12 Preview

The Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks are already playing against each other for the fifth time this season when they face off on Saturday. The Diamondbacks swept the Rockies last week at Coors Field and outscored them 20-5.

New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox Preview 4/13

One of the best rivalries in all of sports continues on Sunday night as the Boston Red Sox host the New York Yankees. The Yankees are schedule to throw Phil Hughes on Sunday while the Red Sox will counter with Daisuke Matsuzaka. Hughes has not started off well this season and will be under a lot of pressure on Sunday since he grew up as a Red Sox fan. Hughes couldn’t make it out of the fourth inning on Tuesday against Kansas City. Hughes has never faced Boston in his career.

The San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers will meet in a series for the second time this season and Friday’s opener will be a rematch of last Saturday as Jake Peavy faces Brad Penny. Peavy has totally shut down the Dodgers in his career going 10-1 against them.

Philadelphia Phillies at New York Mets 4/9 Preview

The Philadelphia Phillies definitely have the New York Mets number. They beat them for the ninth straight time on Tuesday but they may have lost National League MVP Jimmy Rollins for a while. He sprained his left ankle and his status for Wednesday’s game is uncertain. Philadelphia will be going with Kyle Kendrick on Wednesday while the Mets will go with Mike Pelfrey.
