The Chicago Bulls have been short-handed all year, but they have done a nice job staying right around the top of the NBA Central Division. Chicago is one of the few teams in the NBA that has been better on the road than they have been at home. Utah is consistently one of the best home teams in the NBA, and this year is no different. Can the Bulls come out of Utah with a win or will the Jazz continue their home dominance?
The road has not been kind to the Heat this season with an 8-9 straight-up record overall and a 1-3 record four games into their current six-game road trip. Monday night’s 104-97 loss to Utah as 2.5-point road favorites dropped Miami to 24-12 SU and 17-19 against the spread. The total went OVER the 198-point line in that game and it has now gone OVER in its last two games.
The New York Knicks are coming off two straight losses. Last night’s loss to the Pacers came as Carmelo Anthony was suspended. Anthony will be back for the Knicks home game against the Chicago Bulls Friday night on ESPN. The Bulls aren’t the same without Derrick Rose, but they are holding their own. Can they send the Knicks to their third straight loss?
Kobe Bryant’s comments after the Lakers loss to the 76ers this past weekend got a ton of publicity. Bryant was clearly fed up with the Lakers struggles, and he came right out and said this team is too old and isn’t putting forth enough effort. The Lakers are the fourth oldest team in the league, but it’s hard to believe that a team with this much talent can’t do any better than 15-16 through the first 31 games of the year.
The Houston Rockets brought a lot of excitement to the team by signing Jeremy Lin and acquiring James Harden right before the season. Houston started out the season pretty well, but they have lost three of their last four games. The Boston Celtics have had a bit of an up and down start, but they currently sit at 12-9 on the year.
One of the best road teams in the NBA matches up against one of the best home teams in the NBA in Salt Lake City on Wednesday night. The San Antonio Spurs are 11-2 away from home this year. The Utah Jazz are 8-1 on their home floor.
It’s a matchup of two teams that experts believe have a chance at snatching the title away from the Miami Heat this year. Oklahoma City is playing terrific basketball so far this year, while the Lakers have been a major disappointment. Los Angeles is just 9-10 on the year, and the Lakers just can’t seem to get on a hot streak. Can Los Angeles pick up its first signature win of the year in Oklahoma City?
The New York Knicks trailed by 11 late in the game at San Antonio last night, but they rallied to win and remain the final unbeaten team left in the NBA. The Grizzlies had the night off last night, but they have had some great wins of late as well. Memphis took it to the Miami Heat at home earlier this week. The Knicks have the best record in the Eastern Conference, and the Grizzlies have the best record in the Western Conference. This is a battle of two red hot teams on ESPN Friday night.
