The Giants’ four-game winning streak came to an abrupt end this past Sunday with a last second 24-21 loss to Dallas as 2.5-point home favorites. The loss dropped them to 4-7 straight-up on the year and put a serious dent in their NFC East title hopes after bouncing back from a woeful 0-6 start. New York is also 4-7 against the spread and the total has stayed UNDER in three of their last five games.
The New York Giants picked up their first win of the season this past Monday over the Minnesota Vikings. The Giants appear to be improving the last couple weeks, but at 1-6 on the year and 0-4 away from home, the Giants have some major problems. Philadelphia was a complete mess in a 17-3 home loss to the Cowboys last weekend. The Eagles are still in a position to fight for the NFC East title, but they need to win this game.
Minnesota comes into this Monday night NFC clash with just one straight-up victory in its first five games that has it firmly entrenched in the basement of the NFC North. This has been a far cry from last year’s 10-6 mark and run to the playoffs, but not completely unexpected given some of the smoke and mirrors behind that performance. The Vikings are 2-3 against the spread and the total has gone OVER in all five games behind a defense that is allowing an average of 31.6 points a game.

The Giants are coming off back-to-back 9-7 records with vastly different results. In 2011 they won the NFC East and got hot at the right time to win the Super Bowl. Last season nine wins was a case of too little, too late and they missed the playoffs altogether. New York comes into this season as a slight favorite to edge out Dallas for the division title, but that could very well hinge on a win in this game.
There was a time that a game between the Indianapolis Colts and the New York Giants would be pitting brother against brother and would be one of the biggest spectacles of the season. That isn’t the case this year, but this remains an intriguing NFL betting battle on Sunday night on FOX.
