The Timberwolves posted just their fourth straight-up victory in their last 20 games with a 94-87 win over Philadelphia as 3.5-point home favorites this past Wednesday night. They are now 20-31 SU on the year and 22-27-2 against the spread. Minnesota has really struggled on the road with a SU record of 7-18 while going 11-13-1 ATS. The total has stayed UNDER in four of their last five games.
If there was ever any question about LeBron James’ MVP credentials they should have all been answered given his performance over the past six games. In Miami’s 117-104 victory over Portland on Tuesday night as an 11-point home favorite, he scored more than 30 points while shooting at least 60 percent from the field for the sixth-straight game to set a new NBA record.
Oklahoma City extended its current winning streak to four games with Sunday’s 97-69 thrashing of Phoenix as an 8.5-point road favorite. The total stayed UNDER the 205-point line after going OVER in four of its previous five games. The Thunder are now 39-12 straight-up overall and a very profitable 31-18-2 against the spread. They have gone 16-9 SU on the road this season and 13-10-2 ATS.
The Grizzlies continue to try and keep pace with the top teams in the Western Conference but a 5-5 record in their last 10 games has them 29-15 straight-up on the year and 5.5 games out of the No.1 spot. They have gone 3-1 against the spread in their last four games to improve to 26-17-1 ATS overall.
Oklahoma City is cruising along with the best record in the NBA. The Lakers were expected to be their top competition in the Western Conference, but it hasn’t turned out that way at all. Instead, the Lakers are 19-25 and they have the worst team chemistry in the NBA. They’ll get another chance to show they can play with the best in the NBA on Sunday afternoon when they host the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Oklahoma City will be on the second game of a tough back-to-back scheduling spot here. They were in Los Angeles last night to take on the Clippers. Can the Golden State Warriors take advantage of a slightly weary Oklahoma City team, or will the team with the best record in the NBA take care of business once again on Wednesday night?

Oklahoma City is playing terrific basketball so far this year, while the Lakers have been a major disappointment.
