UCLA had a golden opportunity to make a splash in the initial BCS rankings with a win last week against then-No. 13 Stanford, but it came up short in a 24-10 loss as a 4.5-point road underdog. It was the Bruins first loss of the season against five previous victories both straight-up and against the spread. The total stayed UNDER the 55-point closing line in that game and it has now stayed UNDER in four of its first six games.
