It hasn’t been the best season in the world for either the Baltimore Ravens or the Pittsburgh Steelers. One though, will get back to .500 on the season and seize control of the last Wild Card slot in the AFC on Thanksgiving Day night when they meet at M&T Bank Stadium.
The Steelers’ recent winning streak only lasted two games after last Sunday’s 21-18 loss to Oakland as 2.5-point road favorites. They have now fallen to 2-5 on the year both straight-up and against the spread. The total has stayed UNDER in five of the seven games behind an offense that is averaging 17.9 points a game and a defense that is holding teams to an average of 21.9 points.
AFC North rivals where hatred runs deep will duke it out on Sunday afternoon in a crucial NFL betting battle at Heinz Field, as the Pittsburgh Steelers hope to get back on track against the Baltimore Ravens.
The Bears are off to a 2-0 start straight-up but they are 0-1-1 against the spread with the total going OVER in both of their games. Their 24-21 come from behind victory over Cincinnati at home on opening day ended as a PUSH and they could not cover a six-point spread at home in last Sunday’s 31-30 win over Minnesota. The big takeaway from these two games is a revamped offense that is clearly able to put points on the board.
The Steelers missed the playoffs in 2012 for just the third time in the last nine years at 8-8 and are in serious danger of falling into an early 0-2 hole with a loss on Monday night. They came out flat in last Sunday’s season opener with an ugly 16-9 loss against Tennessee as six-point home favorites with the total staying well UNDER the 41.5-point closing line. The loss broke a string of 10-straight victories in the team’s home opener.
The Pittsburgh Steelers didn’t have a great first week of the preseason by any stretch of the imagination, as they were called out by their head coach and put together a dismal showing. Now, they have a chance to redeem themselves in their second preseason game of the campaign against the Washington Redskins.
The Giants are coming off a 9-7 straight-up (7-9 against the spread) record in 2012 but that was not good enough to land a spot in the postseason so the pressure to get back to the playoffs this season has been dialed-up for a team that has won two Super Bowls in the past six seasons. At the center of it all is 10-year veteran quarterback Eli Manning.

Cincinnati’s 34-13 romp over Philadelphia last Thursday night as a 4.5-point road favorite was its fifth win in its last six games. It is now 8-6 straight-up (7-6-1 against the spread) and just one game in back of Baltimore in the AFC North Division title race. The Bengals are 5-2 both SU and ATS on the road this season and the total has stayed UNDER in five of their last six games.
One of Sunday’s premier NFL betting showdowns pits a pair of teams against each other that are hoping to sneak into the back end of the playoffs. The Dallas Cowboys will play host to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
