It has been a tale of two halves in the NBA Finals so far. In Game 1 of this best-of-seven series Miami faded in the fourth quarter to fall 92-88 as a five-point home favorite. This past Sunday night it ran away from the Spurs in the second half of a five-point ball game to cruise to a 103-84 victory as a 6.5-point favorite at home to even things up at one game apiece. The total stayed UNDER the 189.5-point line in both games.
Despite cruising to the Western Conference title with a 12-2 straight-up (10-4 against the spread) record in series victories over the Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State and Memphis, the Spurs came into the NBA Finals as +195 underdogs on the series price.
After an extended nine-day layoff as a result of a four-game sweep over Memphis in the Western Conference Finals, San Antonio will be back in action on Thursday night in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. The Spurs are hoping to pick-up where they left off after going 12-2 straight-up and 10-4 against the spread in their first 14 playoff games this year.
San Antonio finds itself just two more wins away from another trip to the NBA Finals after knocking-off Memphis 105-83 in Game 1 as a 4.5-point home favorite followed by a thrilling 93-89 overtime victory as a 5.5-point favorite at home this past Tuesday night. The total went OVER in both of those games.
Memphis has made a bad habit of slow starts in these playoffs with a 112-91 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers in Game 1 of that series as a 5.5-point road underdog followed by a 93-91 loss in the series opener against Oklahoma City as a 3.5-point underdog on the road.
The Memphis Grizzlies and the San Antonio Spurs are set to start the Western Conference Finals on Sunday afternoon, and they are going to get it on for the first time in NBA betting action on Sunday at the AT&T Center.
