Vancouver Canucks (10-6-2) at New York Rangers (14-5-2)
Wednesday, 7:05 pm Eastern – TSN
SBG Global Opening Line: Rangers - 145 , Total 5.5 Under -130
An excellent hockey betting matchup is on tap Wednesday night as the New York Rangers host the Vancouver Canucks. It is a battle of two top goaltenders as Vancouver’s Roberto Luongo faces New York’s Henrik Lundqvist. Luongo has five shutouts to lead the league while Lundqvist leads the league with 12 wins. SBG Global reports that early Hockey betting has the public taking Rangers at Home.
Luongo has been excellent this month going 4-1-2 with a 0.98 goals against average. He faced the Rangers last January in Vancouver and won 3-0, saving 28 shots. He is 2-7-0 at New York though in his career with a 3.37 goals against average. Lundqvist has not faced Vancouver since 2005 when he lost 3-2. New York is coming off another shootout win, this time on Monday against Ottawa. “We were fired up, and we were going to have this win, no matter what,” said Fredrik Sjostrom, “Everybody excelled and played hard tonight.”
Wednesday’s game is an interesting one for New York forward Markus Naslund who will be facing his former team for the first time. Naslund is second this season on the Rangers with six goals and 14 points.
