College Football Week 4 Betting Trends
The week four college football slate isn’t exactly stacked with marquee matchups, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t money to be made. In fact, I often find that some of the best spots to make money betting on college football is in the games where the oddsmakers aren’t all that interested. There should be plenty of opportunities to make money this weekend.
BangtheBook has offered a trends to consider article during the baseball season, and now we’ll be having a college football trends to consider article during the football season as well. This will give bettors a good look at some of the most important trends to consider before placing a bet this week. Let’s look at trends to consider for games this coming weekend.
-Boise State and Fresno State square off in a key Mountain West matchup on Friday night. This is one of the biggest games of the weekend. These teams tied atop the Mountain West last year, and Fresno State is probably the most talented team in the conference on paper this season. Boise State is 11-1 ATS in their last 12 meetings with Fresno State. The favorite is 11-0 ATS in the last 11 meetings. The favorite is actually Fresno State this year.
-San Jose State continues to cover the number at an amazing pace. The Spartans are 21-5 ATS in their last 26 games. They are 16-5 ATS in their last 21 road games. Minnesota is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 non-conference games. This is an interesting under the radar matchup for Saturday afternoon.
-Michigan State and Notre Dame do battle on Saturday in South Bend. Both of these teams have been underwhelming so far this year. The Spartans are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 road games. The road team is 11-2 ATS in the last 13 meetings between these two teams. Michigan State is 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games at Notre Dame.
-West Virginia is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings with Maryland, but the Terrapins are a perfect 3-0 ATS so far this year. Maryland has been one of the biggest surprises in the country so far this season. Can they continue that trend as they play against more difficult opponents?
-Auburn and LSU both go into this weekend’s matchup at 3-0. It will be a matchup of the Tigers vs. the Tigers here. Auburn is 1-6 ATS in their last 7 road games. The home team is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings between these two. The under is 10-3 in the last 13 meetings between these teams.
-Utah and BYU meet in the “Holy War” this weekend at BYU. This is a huge rivalry game in Utah, and both teams are extremely fired up for this one. The best trend to keep in mind here is that the underdog is 13-3 ATS in the last 16 meetings between these two teams.
-Texas has been beaten up in a big way over the past couple weeks, and now they face a team that has owned them the last few years. Kansas State is 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games against the Texas Longhorns. The underdog is 7-1 in the last 8 meetings between these two.
-The Baylor Bears are now 14-2 ATS in their last 16 home games overall. Baylor is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record. Louisiana-Monroe is 8-2 ATS in their last 10 road games. Something has to give in this game. Baylor is currently favored by more than four touchdowns.
